Lumia 640XL which is a little larger and a little thinner than Lumia Icon has better camera than the more recent cheap smart phones. Nokia is Verizon exclusive while 640XL is AT&T. One of the most frequent applications I use is the camera whether getting some shots for my blogs or photographing or videoing. I have found Nokia Icon an excellent camera on the smart phones I have used. It appears that as selfies have become very popular 640XL has a front-facing camera which has 5MP while Icon had only a 1.2MP.  As built-in software, Nokia Icon had more features than 640XL just looking at advertised full features and that means perhaps some features are not fully documented. Google's Project FI takes off. This has been in the works for long and now it is ready. Are you paying for set bulk rate for data from the likes of AT&T and Verizon? Well it worked but not for those who want to pay for what they use. Project Fi does it for you what AT&T and Verizon do not. It will even reimburse for data not used. Right now you ask to be invited to join the program but later it is for all who want it. The free software model starting with Android was a huge success and as Android is a global market leader for smart phones it will be easy to get them on to Project Fi. The seamless transition from cellular to Wi-Fi is a very attractive feature, a feature that all smart phone manufacturers should emulate. I have been looking at sensors as related to Health and Fitness apps and I came across a problem which prompted me to look at all Nokia phones to see the sensors available on the phones and the carriers who offer the phones. Well, Verizon sold me a phone which is really a Nokia 929 as a Nokia Icon Black. I am not if it is the same as Nokia Icon. I received in my email a message from Microsoft Store that a Nokia Lumia 635 is available with Windows Phone 8.1. I tried to find if my Nokia Icon 929 gets the update. At this point Microsoft (chat) could not say anything positive. My carrier VERIZON is also unable to confirm, they think probably towards the end of August. I do not find Windows Phone 8.1 Upgrade on the store. It is very interesting that the Nokia Icon was touted as the most current device and it is funny that there is no update. My guess is it is something to do with the contract between Nokia and the carriers, because for Nokia Lumia 635 there appears to be just two vendors, AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon says they are not responsible and that Microsoft should be contacted and I drew a blank with Microsoft.
