Develop a Side Menu App using Intel XDK - Part 8

Image
You have developed an APP such as the Side Menu App and now you want to see how it would look when you bring it up on a smart phone. It is true that it is not complete, as yet. But it is always of interest to know how it would look on  a real phone, an Apple phone or some other phone. In the previous post you have seen how you may use the emulators to view the app you designed is rendered. In this post you will learn how you may view it on a handheld device be it an iPhone or something other like a Windows 10 Mobile. This step is needed before you package it to be downloaded by anyone from one of the device stores (Google Play, Apple Store or Windows Store) I assume you have one of these devices at hand, an iPhone or some other compatible with Intel XDK. You will also require Internet Connection via Wi-Fi. The first thing for you to do is to install the Intel XDK Preview app on your device. This app is available on both Apple Store and Windows Store. If it is an Android, i...

You have developed an APP such as the Side Menu App and now you want to see how it would look when you bring it up on a smart phone. It is true that this app is not complete, as yet. But it is always of interest to know how it would look on  a real phone, an Apple phone or some other phone. The first thing for you to see is how it would look on the emulator. Do not get into two year contracts, avoid them like plague

I cannot but echo the sentiments of John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile when he said, "Carriers have counted on staggered contract end dates and hefty early termination fees to keep people bound to them forever. But now families can switch to T-Mobile without paying a single red cent to leave them behind".  May be you should take up T-Mobiles offer detailed here: "T-Mobile offers to pay termination fees" In my experience with AT & T, my two year contract has been a pain point with their poor phone (made by Samsung) and their not so supportive support staff. I am just itching to get out of the two year contract ending February. The phone battery was a trash which never functioned except for about a year. Now it works only if it is hooked to wall plug. See here details:   http://hodentekmobile.blogspot.com/2013/07/this-samsung-phone-battery-was-trash.html I only use the alarm function (as I make very few calls) these days and use my wife's Nokia phone for ...

HTC launches Windows 8 (NFC) phones 8x and 8c

Competition is heating up. HTC launched two NFC supported phones Phone 8x (for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon) and Phone 8S with Windows 8 with screen resolution of 1280x720 (8x) and 800x480(8c). Both use the Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcom's system on a chip ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)#Snapdragon_S4 ). Some say that 8x almost indistinguishable from Lumia 920, http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57516060-94/htc-windows-phone-8x-vs-nokia-lumia-920-specs-and-more/ (competition heating across the board at all levels!). HTC is third behind Apple and Samsung in the market share in North America ( http://www.hartware.de/news_55910.html ).
