Well It all started with Sony Walkman and now you have Smartlet. It is an accessory that lets you wear your iPhone on your wrist. It is not just a strap-on but lot more functional. It has a uni-directional locking mechanism that makes it slip-on, slip-off easily.

iPhones are little awkward to carry and you can see lots of people fumbling in their handbags to take it out and now it is right on your wrist (I am sure you will remember it is there).

Actually you may almost call it a wrist watch but that will be a little stretch.

Deploying a Universal Windows Project to Lumia 950

We will be using the Lumia 950 as the connected device and it has been set to Developer Mode as described earlier. We start with the HelloWorld Universal Windows Project(UWP) that has been tested to run without errors on the Local Machine as described here. Open the project in Visual Studio 2017 as shown. UWP: Displaying formatted text in a TextBox Control

The entry you make in a text box control is of data type text and sometimes you need to format it as a currency with thousands separator while displaying. Also, if the number of decimal places you enter is more than 2, you need to round it up to 2 in the output. How do you code this in a UWP app? Create a UWP page starting from a Blank UWP project with three controls as shown. There are two text boxes and a button. You enter a number in the top textbox (txt1) and click the button, the formatted currency will be displayed in the bottom textbox(txt2). The app displays as shown. Now provide for a click event for the button and insert code as shown: Convert_1 The string entered in txt1 is converted to data-type double, it is then 'rounded'.
